1972

C.P. Environmental, Inc. was founded in the southwest suburbs of Chicago by industry veterans Tim Carr and Jim Petrie. The original business is set up to supply filter bags and other dust collector replacement parts for baghouses used in the steel, foundry and cement industries. The company also offers scheduled and preventative maintenance and repair services including the installation of baghouse replacement parts.

1985

The company purchases the assets of EVO Systems, a former dust collector equipment manufacturer. The new business, known as C.P. Environmental Filters Inc. is the dust collector design and manufacturing arm of the company. The combined businesses have now evolved to include design and fabrication of custom and private-labeled dust collection and related equipment in addition to their roots in aftermarket dust collection parts and maintenance services. The combined companies offer a total solution approach.

1989

Mark Sternisha, formerly a sales manager at Flex-Kleen Corporation, joins C.P. Environmental Filters, Inc. Mark brings significant expertise in applications engineering and custom equipment design. Mark expands the representative network nationally; broadens the customer base, develops the company’s intellectual infrastructure.

1998

Scott Franco joins C.P.E. Filters Inc., bringing valued experience in process engineering applications.

2004

Carr and Petrie split as do the two (2) companies: C.P. Environmental, Inc. primarily provides baghouse services and replacement parts, and C.P. Environmental Filters Inc. (aka C.P.E. Filters, Inc.), primarily designs and manufactures new equipment, but with a strong foothold in total system solutions, engineering evaluations, site services, equipment installation, baghouse maintenance, and re-builds/conversions.

2007

C.P.E. Filters, Inc. moves to its current location in Woodridge IL. This facility has 4,000 sq. ft. of modern office space in addition to 6,000 sq. ft. of warehouse storage area. Critical maintenance and repair parts are kept in inventory at the Woodridge facility to ensure fast delivery. C.P.E. Filters’ local manufacturing facility has the ability to expedite fabricated wear items like tubesheets, access doors, and pulsing system assemblies.

2000’s

Mark Sternisha attains complete ownership of C.P.E. Filters, Inc. after several management changes and the retirement of the original owners. The company continues to enhance its intellectual capabilities by expanding its staff of dust collection experts towards continuing to earn its reputation as a trusted supplier of dust collection solutions.

2019

The company logo is modernized, and the periods are eliminated from the company name. The contemporary logo with stylized dust collection icon symbolizes complete dust collection solutions. CPE Filters’ website is revamped to better represent its capabilities.
